There's No Student I Know Who Will Not Check Several Times the Veracity of News of Class Suspension Until They're Satisfied

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

Last Wednesday night, just when I thought I would not have to think about anything school or student related for at least forty-eight hours, I received a text message from one of my co-teachers.

She asked me to find out from this student (a member of the college Student Council) where she got the information she was forwarding to people by text about there being classes the next day.

I sent her an inquiry, and she named this other student (an Engineering junior irregular - transferree - while she was a sophomore) who, according to her, got the information from someone else that, when he asked, had replied he (the third person) was sure about his facts, which was why it was spread.

So I relayed this to my co-teacher, who said that she had promised the head of the registrar's office that she would investigate this false rumor. Apparently, the students identified will be called in to give their testimony, and there will be official sanctions, as it is believe to be maliciously intended.

I, personally, don't think so. It may have been a prank (my co-teacher labeled the junior irregular I named as a potential prankster) or it may be an honest mistake. After all, the news did not reach everybody at the same time that night.

It's possible that someone in the administration was still out of the loop, and when asked, may have answered, without any other confirmation at hand, that classes will push through.

They may have heard the news later that night and scrambled to correct the assumption.

Well, I've done my part (initially), and I really do hope that this all doesn't get blown out of proportion, and will try to play the cool head if I do get to sit in on the proceedings.

It's possible to be a bit too cautious in trying to lay blame in the event a student does try to go to school on that day and disastrously gets caught in almost 200 kph winds.

Session 1429 erred on the side of inaction. Class dismissed.
