Cynical Response to Forced Donations

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

So what is there to write here about today? Not much from my classes.

Well, except maybe for my Computer Architecture class, where I saw that we had reached the third to the last chapter of the textbook.

We couldn't use the second to the last chapter because that is concentrating more on circuits and components than computer chips.

We also couldn't use the last chapter because that contains all their lab experiments.

That's when I realized it also contains experiments they didn't make in their class.

When I looked through those experiments, I saw one relatively complex one that asked for a circuit analysis before they actually set up the wiring. There were five questions for how the circuit would behave when a certain switch is thrown.

So that's their most recent problem set, which I don't know yet if it will be their last problem set or not, and where I'll get the next one.

@@ In other news, there have been three sign up sheets for the faculty being routed around today, based on things discussed during the meeting yesterday. One was for the institutional Christmas Party, which is happening on the afternoon of course card day.

The second is for the college Christmas Party, which is happening on the evening of the same day, ensuring that we will already be too stuffed from the earlier party to eat and thus need to bring too much food for everyone else. Some potluck.

What I'm wondering is why there was no listing to check whether or not we wanted to participate in the college faculty exchange gift.

I'd certainly sign up for (I mean against) that, and given the lack of response from the other people in the department, I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to opt out also.

Session 1923 squeezes the last drop of what could be taught to the students. Class dismissed.
