Same Old Problems with Students on The Last Day of the Term

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

My Computer Architecture students, or at least one of them that I've talked to before giving him his grade (the other guy just took his card and left before looking at it, then never came back, which I guess means he's satisfied - well, that's my interpretation) said that his classmates were supposed to pass their final problem set that I talked about here.

Two of them gave that person their answer to one of the two questions, and relied on them to answer the other one and pass it on the deadline that I set, which was Friday last week.

But that didn't happen, and I was here until Saturday, when there weren't any papers left in my cubicle from the day before.

But they still passed nonetheless, although a little below average.

At least one student is satisfied with that though, and will not pursue the missing problem set submission anymore to raise their grade.

@@ There were also some students in Graphics Two who complained about their relatively low grades, which I told them was either because they did not submit early, for which their classmates had bonuses (there were no deductions given anymore for late submissions) or they did not upload copies of their work to the given website or email address.

Some of them thought that they could delete the files they already uploaded to the website, which caused that dip in their grade.

Although I emphasized this in class (which is why several of the other students were able to follow my instructions) I still was lenient to these freshmen students and allowed them to submit their files up to tomorrow, since I already graded them for those which means that I know they worked on it.

It's just that we need copies for the Engineering Week celebration where we will display all the new and old 3D models that they have made in their class. So there's an incentive for that.

Session 1951 considers this course card distribution day a little tame compared to before - so far. Class dismissed.
