Teachers Waste Time Waiting For the Students to Appear

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

It seems that what was not communicated to the students about the academic advisers being here on the two days after course card distribution is that this is done by the teachers for them.

But they seem to still be of the mindset that they can go for adjustment anytime even during the three days before the term starts next year.

Or, even after the term has started, since the late fee will not be coming from their pockets anyway. All they are probably thinking about is getting to enjoy their Christmas break as early as possible.

Well, there are some teachers who feel the same way, or who believe that if they are called upon to show up during these days when they think they do not have any work anymore (when the academic advising is part of their work and not something extra).

What these people forget is the part of the job that is termed as vocation.

This is what sets them apart from the new graduates who just take on a teaching job while looking for more lucrative (or higher paying - but with more demanding hours - job) - the dedication to education.

Unfortunately, the relatively low amount of hours is a big attraction to some people, and yet they also still have the attitude best reserved for low profile corporate positions where much is not expected of you beyond what the employers can quantify.

I already told the head of the registrar's office that the students should be informed again at the start of the academic advising week that if they do not list down the classes they want to take for the next term, that there is a possibility that they will be closed out on the subjects they want.

After all, academic advising is supposed to be for the associate dean to find out how feasible it is to open certain subjects and the number of sections, if a subject may not be offered for lack of students who will take it, or if more than one section of a certain subject has to be opened because more than thirty students are going to be taking it.

Session 1953 are part of the work at the last minute society. Class dismissed.
