It's Now Regular to Have Something New and Different

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

There's still this part of me that, after everything that's happened in the past few weeks, is waiting for things to go back to "normal".

What is normal anyway? While I was away, the sense of newness of the situation quickly faded into the background after three or four days.

And now I'm actually at the cusp of the possibility of a longer stay in that other country, which means that there are more preparations and discussions of possibilities to be made.

So if normal is just going back to my classes, that's not possible for long.

Add to that that as student affairs coordinator, there's this discipline case that has to be handled (several meetings) and the Christmas party committee, which I can't back out of.

I won't say that things are escalating, but things are definitely not at a plateau.

From a horizontal point of view, it can be said that things are not proceeding linearly.

I could say that it started this school year, with this extra-curricular deloading, and getting close to the culmination of my graduate studies, and this opportunity for international research falling into my lap just because of the location of the campus.

There's also the possibility of teaching astronomy again next term.

That is, if the other teachers don't object to it instead of a more general science course, if they're thinking of their own butts.

Who knows, maybe the future actually lies not in any of those directions?

Session 2413 is definitely not going back to the comfort of routine. Class dismissed.
