We'll Be Looking Up to the Skies Again

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

The third term course assignments have been passed down from the associate dean's office.

It's still tentative - for most, that is; I have at least three sections of a new non-mathematical science class newly offered for next term.

Alright, alright, you don't have to twist my arm; it's astronomy.

It's been five years since I last taught this, but it all seems like yesterday.

This is something I've actually been told on the first week I was still in that island country north of the Philippines, but I've only been twittering about it, not here.

One of my co-teachers emailed that it would actually be better to come up with a more comprehensive and less computational science course which includes the likes of thermodynamics and optics, but that's something they have to do from scratch, while the astronomy course is ready to teach.

I did have to give an outline for the lab class, needing to take out some experiments to be able to fit it into thirteen weeks, but this is still a dream come true (to have a lab class) compared to the solely lecture subject that I taught before.

And I also told our associate dean that unlike the limitation given in the other science labs where only twenty students can enroll in the lab class, here up to twenty four students can go to one class, since there will be no shortage of equipment anymore like in the previous classes, as most of the materials they need to use are easily obtainable.

Yes, that also means that evening (and maybe even overnight) stargazings will be possible again - regularly this time.

Session 2419 also needs to admit something quirky: this post is actually version three, something the browser having made it close while writing the first two drafts. Class dismissed.
