When Angry People Expect Others to be Mind Readers

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

The secretary of the human resources office may be tiffed with me for something that isn't actually my fault. Here's why:

I think I already discussed here about my being asked to notarize some employees' contracts just because I go to a place weekly where it's cheaper than what is being paid nearby.

We're talking about half the price here, so that when around 30 plus contracts were passed on to me, that means I'm saving the school around ten thousand pesos in notary fees.

I was therefore surprised when the dean's office didn't even want to reimburse my bus fares going to and from the notary.

Why? Just because I'm going there anyway? So not even a small token of appreciation for the amount they're not wasting because of me?

Anyway, that was all taken care of by the human resources office.

That was also last term. This term of course there are new contracts to have signed.

I was already asked by the HR secretary when I'd be free to work on it before my trip, but I never did follow up on that because of all the long term travel preparations I had to make.

What surprised me was on the Thursday after I'd returned, when I had a meeting at the HR office with their head after lunch, the secretary had a note on her desk that said she was "off campus".

A few hours later, the college secretary was calling and texting me frantically saying that the HR secretary couldn't find the office I used to be able to get the notarization at that low price, because she only brought the exact amount with her, not even having asked where I had it done, and therefore not having been told that the price was rounded down because it cost four to five figures total.

Session 2421 thinks maybe a groveling preemptive apology is in order? Class dismissed.
