"Listen to My Words: I Know What's Best About Everything"

Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

I made the mistake of riding with slacker co-teacher after office hours yesterday. Even though the meeting was two days prior, since he didn’t have anyone to rant to about the meeting last Tuesday, it was all pent up and delivered yesterday. I bet all the way home that day he was already thinking of what he’d say to us next time we do ride his car again, which happened to be the next day.

It’s funny how he always reiterates his excuse why he doesn’t speak up during the meetings, which is that nothing ever happens, so why bother, and that he’d just get labeled as a naysayer.

Of course that’s still cowardice, because if you feel so strongly about it like that, then you should speak up.

If he thinks that everyone is like him, just keeping their mouths shut because they don’t want to lose their jobs, but that they feel the same way he does, he’s mistaken. There are already those who know he’s all talk and no action from the difference of what he says in front of and behind authority.

When talking about some other teachers’ situation, he also is all bluster in saying that in that scenario, this or that funny or putting-down act is what he’d do, but I doubt if he’d do it push come to shove.

And in the meeting we had earlier where we were discussing the budget for next school year, he was so out of it that even though the director already quoted the total figure we were receiving, when asked how much would be needed for the labs he was teaching, he gave a sum half as much again as the total budget. Was he thinking that the director would just say ok to that?

And not only that, he admitted that there was some equipment, but that either it’s cheap or it’s broken, or he doesn’t want to use it or let the students use it because he’s “scared it might blow up”.

All excuses for all the non-actions he’s been doing. I’m just wondering what will happen when the equipment does arrive, would he not like that because he’ll have nothing to complain about anymore and he’ll be forced to actually work at knowing how to use it to teach the students?

And he tried to lighten the discussion by saying some negative thing about the brother president related to the meeting the other day, but no one took the bait and just ignored him.

Of course he also tried to sneak in their construction company into the proceedings by saying the estimates for constructing the new lab is much higher than what he knew it would cost.

As if the purchasing office has no other goal in life but to make sure that we spend more money that we should on our equipment, and that we would never be satisfied with what we bought.

With him it’s always someone else’s bad attitude or mistake, but never his own, even through inaction.

Session 2523 would like this guy to be true to his threats and quit. Class dismissed.
