Six Years Here, First Offender Caught

Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

I forgot to mention about last week: I caught a student playing with the elevator.

I was at the basement waiting for a ride up. When the doors opened, there were three students inside.

Two of them, who I was familiar with, stepped out immediately. The third one, a young new face, had a goofy look on her face as she fiddled with the panel before exiting.

When I got on, I saw that all the buttons for all the floors going up were lit up.

I alighted immediately and called the student's attention before they got too far.

I asked first if she was a student here, which I had to be sure of before giving out sanctions.

She said she was, so I asked for her ID. Thankfully the discipline officer was in the cafeteria I just left, so I went back there and had to interrupt his snack.

The student, and the two friends she was with, was still at the central lobby when I returned.

I told her the discipline officer was at the cafeteria and would attend to her then I went up.

Today the discipline officer told me that the student will be brought before the head of discipline later.

At least the student, according to him, was just embarrassed and not crying as I had feared.

He even asked her how she could do such a thing since he knew she was just the quiet type.

@@ My co-teacher just told me another story about a certain student asking for an extension on his exam because he arrived with only thirty minutes left in the period.

He even came up with a medical certificate from a local hospital and brought his mother.

I would have just given him a new exam, because obviously, he wants to take the old exam he already knows the questions to and for which he's reviewed the answers.

Session 2563 knows that isn't fair. Class dismissed.
