Not Wanting School to End

Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

I just talked to one of my co-teachers about a would-be graduate who is applying to teach here.

I am so opposed to the idea that I sent a text message to the vice dean about it, using the words "emphatically recommend". This is after my co-teacher told me that the student was given a teaching demo, where both the computer science teachers said he should only be hired if no one else applied.

But there is someone else who applied, another graduate, who has higher grades and a less abrasive personality.

Let's discuss the first student's bad qualities, shall we? First of all, he has already tried working outside, part time. But even those people don't like his behavior, and unlike the school who had to tolerate his borderline psychoses for years, immediately fired him.

Of course for him this just meant all of those employers were wrong and he's right.

So he goes back to the only environment where he wasn't rejected outright: the artificial world of school.

Besides that, there have been reports coming in that he in his resume has identified himself as the school's official photographer, something that is nowhere near the truth, especially since he's a new graduate and if it were true, why would he have left that job?

Also, he has two organizations that he helped found that he most likely now wants to keep control of.

I already asked his batch mates to write a letter to the vice dean opposing the idea.

After all, they know him best, along with all the attitudes of his that they do not respect.

And I'm also sure that if he gets control of a class, that he will just power trip.

On second thought, maybe it would be interesting to let him start to teach, and see the students and the other teachers revolt about his methods. That would definitely be a bridge-burning experience for him, and he won't be able to say he was never given a chance.

Session 2613 is more concerned now than ever about making sure that students (and sometimes non-students) learn their lessons. How did this come about? Class dismissed.
