Looking At the Silver Lining - Of My Life

Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

There are so many things I could write about, but I'm not sure how much of them are better off in the student accessible version.

@@ The guidance counselor has an assistant, someone who is on her practicum. And to think she was just praying about this last week during our planning session. "God is good."

@@ I was finally forced to stay in the office of student affairs today because there was no net in the engineering faculty room since last Saturday. When I went back to get some things I forgot, after already lugging everything across the two wings and up a floor, I found out that it was just the switch of the hub being off. F my life? Not me.

@@ During the extended operations council meeting, the physical facilities director had to explain to the dean about two separate cases of over speeding in the campus, when in fact the case is really that one of them did not stop at the gate since he did not have a sticker.

What's sad about it is that it's one of the fifth year students that I failed in astronomy last term; so much for setting an example to the younger batches then.

@@ Okay, from my new office I can see into the west wing fourth floor ladies room.

Not that it can't be seen from the hallway with the door open, it's just that they might have the idea that I was the one who wanted my seat to be here to get that particular view.

@@ The dean asked me today about what to do with the four new computers for the student lounge.

Hitting two birds with one stone, I said that two of them (the older two) were for me and the discipline officer, just to cut down on the number of pending requests I have with the computer office.

The other two, the newer ones with Windows Vista, will be for the use of the students.

It's just Microsoft Office for now, no internet, which means they will still be able to use them for reports and stuff.

The net connection, which requires extending cables through the ceiling, will have to come later.

And here's to hoping (God is good) that the donation of Macs also push through, so that there would now be six or seven computers there for the use of the students.

I also reminded the info tech office about our need for an intercom in our office now that there’s someone here fulltime.

@@ Well what do you know? Despite earlier worries of nothing to write about, I was able to fill an entry for today.

Session 2691 is now getting into the feel of it. Class dismissed. There are so many things I could write about, but I'm not sure how much of them are better off in the student accessible version.
