Hurdling the Middle of the Week

Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

We're having the government Chinese telecommunications whistle blower here again on campus.

This time, it wouldn't be for any political reason. But it would be as the speaker for the guidance office's next seminar on personality development. He was met by our mission office head two Fridays ago on that emergency gathering about the con ass.

They got close, and apparently the brother president agreed to the selection, so we have green light.

It won't be for the foundation week though, because the guidance counselor couldn't get a venue.

So it would be the week after the foundation week, which is good because it doesn't conflict anymore with the invitation of the D.L.S.P. president to the campus for A Day with the Brothers.

@@ Starting next week though, instead of just the mission office, the student affairs and the guidance office, we will be adding the officer for the welfare of the students and the second brother in the campus to our discussions. I just hope they cancel each other out.

This is because I am still irritated in the O.W.S. template for the outstanding teacher that for him includes the "importance" of number of subjects taught, number of preparations and MS and PHD units. I disagree, which is why I rated them low in the survey he passed around.

This is, after all, not the contest for the most qualified or the most experienced teacher.

As it stands now, two of our youngest teachers are at the head of the list (who also happen to be our graduates), and if these attributes are taken into account, they can't win against the other three senior nominees. Let's hope the other evaluators feel the same way.

@@ There's also another formation camp being scheduled, and the freakish thing is that the participation per college student is still prohibitively large at seven thousand pesos.

This is considering the one for the high school, which is in an island in the south, is cheaper, as well as the one last summer where the college students and the college administrative assistant joined.

So we might only be able to aid one or two in going, unless they want to share in the expense.

And it was curious that even before I got the email about it, the student council president already approached me with recommendations for who would join from among them.

Well, let's see where the transportation and representation part of the budget now fits in.

Session 2711 is still learning the ropes. Class dismissed.
