Meetings to Mobilize Members

Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

There were three meetings today, although only two were planned and I thought that one was not going to push through.

The first was with my opposite number for the grade school and high school. We talked about the celebration of the month of teachers and the month of the environment.

As I had outlined in the student accessible version, we have agreed that these should be institutional.

That means that the college will be going along with the events of the lower years and vice versa.

This will be the second time that we will be asking the dean and the principal for a suspension of classes, at least for one period.

In the lingo of the college, it will actually be just set up where students with classes will attend the culmination instead, along with their teachers, and even those without classes.

I do not know if the students will still be pushing through with that skit where they will be impersonating the teachers.

Since there will be grade five students upwards watching this will me going over their heads.

We still have to decide whether the commemorative tokens will be medals or garlands.

There will also be a video montage of several students thanking their mentors, of the principal and dean giving their messages, and maybe an employee or two telling their memorable moments as students and maybe why they went into the profession in the first place.

So only the brother president will be talking on that day besides the students. The other brother I mentioned yesterday in fact, does not want any part in the planning, because he wants to be appreciated as a teacher and I guess be surprised.

We are planning for a light snack afterwards. There will also be a large tarpaulin outside the gate.

Even the post-it thank you notes will be institutional, placed in one corner of the central lobby instead of the student center. It will not be in the center of the lobby because of the simultaneous book fair.

As for the environment month plans, the petitions booth will be in the (sleeping) gazebo, so as not to be in-your-face to the cafeteria personnel if it is placed right outside their entrance.

Only one request needs the help of the physical facilities office though, the four-bin waste segregation.

Session 2799 will try to sneak out of the seminar tomorrow to post something here. Class dismissed.
