Still Struggling Against Not Posting

Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

The freaking dance troupe played a mean joke on me today, unintentional as it was on their part.

I have been texting them since 6am today to tell them that they had to be at the media lab at 8am to do their part for the tributes.

It was a rendition of Footloose, supposedly the favorite song of the brother from the time he was inducted into brotherhood.

It was the first time for them to dance to one complete song instead of a medley, which has been their specialty for the past three years.

I was glad they did not back out, just like the other organizations did when they were asked to do something for the month of teachers.

@@ Just an addendum about that game I have been playing for distraction. To make the robot not too powerful, they have added glass skin (like those old Japanese cartoons about robots?) to not have such a large defense stat.

At the same time, it seems that getting some of the customized armor for the robot results in increased stamina, more than 100%!

Unlike humans and the other fleshy characters, apparently robots also take longer to get exhausted, only when they reach 40% stamina instead of 50%, which means more encounters per day.

I have also over-clocked my repair rate, so that I am actually getting repaired at least one point per round in battle. Actually that is not much, and I do not want to increase the knob on that.

Also, they have tried to compensate for being able to buy the most bad-ass weapon, the flail, by making it unwieldy and could deal the character using it damage on a random roll of the virtual dice.

@@ And staying true to stream of thought, even though this is also school related like the first part of this post, I will write it here.

I just have a short rant about the insistence of the faculty and staff this year for more exchange gifts, despite the supposed austere nature of the celebration and concentration on practicality.

Well, it is neither austere nor practical to have to look for a gift that is in the wish list of the person I drew, only to find out that there is no such item available at that price. I would get a gift check instead.

@@ And a student leader for one of their classes just asked me about the problems of the Office of Student Affairs.

Besides the so laid back nature of the students here that they wait until the last moment to do anything, it is also an infection that reaches to most of the students not wanting to go to activities scheduled.

It is bad enough that the students, again due to procrastination, are not able to come out with posters until a week before the event.

This, I have told them from past experience, means that the students do not get to read it, on time at least.

Session 2875 treats this as a filler day to Friday. Class dismissed.
