Communicate and Commute

Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

The first (maybe only) meeting of the day was labeled as "email deployment", and had the student activities coordinator of the Integrated School involved, as well as the marketing office and the registrar.

Apparently though, it was about giving each student an email address with the name of the school.

We are going to be the test campus, apparently, including addresses for all the alumni in college and in high school. For the current high school students though, it will only be for the Student Council.

The idea of course is that graduates, not just working in the schools, will be proud to give out to prospective employers and friends. Not prospective friends. Okay, make that friends and prospective employers.

But the question is what about not-so-outstanding alumni and those who do not graduate will get?

Apparently, there is a hundred peso maintenance fee for students to pay to use it yearly. This makes it easy for those who do not graduate, because then theirs will be deactivated. For the alumni, they will have to pay a bit more, but it will then be lifetime to use, and it will come out of their graduation fees.

But there should be a provision that the email should not be used for fraudulent or other criminal purposes, else they will be removed.

@@ Tonight is the flight of my best friend in college and his family back to LA. They were in the country for almost a month, and I was able to see them only three times. First was Christmas Eve at their house, second was when they went on a tour of the BF Homes area one day after Christmas, and last was just last Sunday to Monday, where we hung around the G4 and GB3 area then went to Timberland in San Mateo 15 minutes from Commonwealth Avenue to buy a lot.

And they swore they would not wait as long as last time (seven years) before returning, especially with that new property to work on but it may be every two years, especially since there are a lot of other places in the Philippines and Southeast Asia they want to visit that was too much to fit in their schedule and in their budget. And that is one long run on sentence I didn't intend.

@@ My office in the Student Center has been renovated. It used to be facing the door (south), now I am facing the west corner.

The opening to the cubicle used to be in the middle of the low west cubicle wall, now it is beside the pylon.

The two desks (my main one and the one where the computer is placed) used to be parallel to each other from east to west.

Now they are in an L shape with the main desk being from north to south and the computer desk unchanged.

There is now space for two chairs in front of my desk, as well as a big plant at the southwest corner.

I use the northeast windows as another corner to my office, by the way, so when I look to the right, I see the Park of the Founder and the pine trees between the road in front of the softball field and the road in front of the main building.

Session 2925 sees this as filler all right. Class dismissed.
