In Which Our Brave Heroine is Overcome By Paint Fumes

The painters have been here all week, except yesterday, and I am going out of my head trying to find things for us to do out of the house all day. (And may I just say that when you attempt to confine a toddler to ONE room because you can't be gone ALL day EVERY day and there are guys with huge toddler-drowning paint buckets in the places where he usually plays... well, that will tick a toddler off.) I have no idea what we're going to do tomorrow, but at least it's supposed to warm up somewhat. Our playgroup has been moved up to 2:30 or 3:00, which is horrendous in terms of naptime, and the last time we went over to this particular family's house (very nice people), Ethan threw an hour long screaming fit and attempted to strange himself in his carseat on the way home.

The one good thing about having the painters here all week is I've been forced to get up about 6:30 every morning, which means that I have gotten a lot of phone calls accomplished, and I've also managed to write my morning pages every day. Nothing else, alas, except for a poem which needs a bit more revising before I subject it to the light. It's coming, though.

And can I just say that New York has the most xenophobic homeschool requirements in the country?

More on that later.
