It's official; I typed THE END today. As expected, it didn't take me too long to get through those last couple of chapters, so it hardly feels like I did any work at all today. I'm not sure if I feel the load gone from my shoulders completely yet or not, but I am sure I'll get used to the fact that it's all right to work on something new fairly quickly.

It was made plain to me -- again -- the other day that consistency is what finishes and sells books. I have been woefully inconsistent in my writing over the past two years, and that situation must be remedied. Some sort of word count quota, or at least a daily block of time, is again warranted, I think, even with pregnancy and moving and all of that. Maybe even because of pregnancy and moving and all of that. I am trying my best to maintain a routine for the kids in the midst of all this stuff, but I can't discount the importance of routine in my own life as well. It's good to have something to hang onto.
