This one absolutely rocks!!!! The only other kind of hero I'd rather be is one of the X-Men (there are quite of few of them I'd love to be).

In other news - I just got in Friday night from a 3-day trip to the Bay Area with Pepita. We left Wednesday afternoon, and drove up to Monterey. It was a wonderful drive up, particularly because we cut over to Highway 1 at San Luis Obispo and took the coast up to Monterey. The next morning, we went to the Moneterey Bay Aquarium, which Pita had never been to before. We only had about 2 hours, but even that was wonderful.

The reason we only had a couple of hours was that we had to be at my grandparents' house in Menlo Park by 2PM on Thursday. We met up with my parents, my brother and his girlfriend at the house (They drove up that morning), so we could all get ready for the early birthday party for my grandmother that afternoon. It was a fairly big get-together, because it was to celebrate her 80th. There was a near mishap with the cake, which my uncle was supposed to pick up. Two hours before the party, he was still at home, an hour and a half north of my grandparents house. So, Dad, Pita and I went and got the cake, and the crisis was averted.

The party went very well, and Pita got to meet a lot of my relatives. The mood did get a little depressing a few times (my grandfather is feeling very old lately, and he knows he probably does have too long left), but on the whole i was good. The only really bad thing that evening was that Robin, my 13 year old cousin, got way out of line back at the house, and hit Pita hard over the head. We didn't think too much of it at first, but Pita's head was bothering her well into the end of the day on Friday. I still need to call my uncle to let him know what happened, and so that I can yell at my cousin.

Friday was pretty cool. We (Ben, his GF Val, Pita and I) went swimming at my grandparents house in the morning, before Ben, Val, and Mom went home. Dad, Pita and I went up to the city, since Pita had never been to San Francisco before. We drove across the Golden Gate Bridge, and spent some time at the Marin County lookout. Then we went back into the city, drove down Lombard St, and hit Fisherman's Wharf for lunch. We finally stopped at Ghiradelli Square, grabbed a bunch of chocolate, and headed home.

It was a wonderful mini-vacation, and it has me and Pita looking forward to our real vacation next month to Comic-Con in San Diego.
