The frightening consequences of electroshock therapy

I'm a middle aged government attorney living in a rural section of the northeast U.S. I'm unmarried and come from a very large family. When not preoccupied with family and my job, I read enormous amounts, toy with evolutionary theory, and scratch various parts on my body.

This journal is filled with an enormous number of half-truths and outright lies, including this sentence.

Sister 9 of 12

My sister the nun (9 of 12) is scheduled for an operation to remove an ovarian cyst tomorrow. I had known about this for about a week, but it wasn't until I received her letter today that I understood how difficult the surgery would be. Apparently she will be in the hospital for three days and then will be recovering at the convent for another four to five weeks. I'm going to have to have to talk some other family members about visiting her over the weekend.

And in other news, I have a blind date tomorrow with a woman who had three books published in the last year, all with the word 'Merovinginian' in their title. It got set up last night before I had the letter from my sister. I feel a little bit guilty about just enjoying myself now that I know my sister will be unconscious recoverying from surgery at the same time, but I guess there really isn't much I could do. I have a mid day hearing tomorrow and a couple of court appearances on Thursday so there is no way I could squeeze in a 300 mile trip to see her before the weekend.
