Eviscerating a Lion—an art project

Equipment:

Two packets of jello (obviously, I'm on a jello art project kick)
a large flat pan
cookie cutters
spatula

1. Make jigglers as per the package's instructions. (Yes, I'm saying that with a straight face, sort of.)
2. Help the child cut them out with the really fancy cookie cutters. My sister gave me mine. They have a gorilla, a lion, a camel. Really cool stuff like that.
3. Admire their jewel tones. Jello really is pretty.
4. Taste them. You're welcome to eat them. I just have never liked jello.
5. Now here's the part my child invented: clean-up by decapitation. She took the spatula and slowly took apart each creature commenting along the way—now you don't have any legs, now your head is gone—before throwing them in the trash.

Isn't it great when children help with clean-up?
