Peek a boo

David's got the bear blanket over his head. He lifts up a corner and grins. Peek a boo! He chortles. I put the blanket on my head. He grabs a corner. Peek a boo!

Uh Oh, a.k.a., Gravity and Overboard

The sippy cup is on the tray. Uh oh! Now the sippy cup is dripping on the floor. He's reading the library book on the changing table. Uh oh! Now it's behind the heavy bureau. The green ducky sock is dangling above the bathtub. . .no way, that sock never leaves his hand.

Thank you

David passes me the plastic bag of Swedish fish. Thank you! His hand is already reaching for it back. He hands over the wooden hotdog, and back it goes. The rules of this game are very confusing to his four-year old sister.

Pass the Octopus

I hold the bathtub toy between my teeth and lean forward. David does not grab with his hands. He's got teeth too, after all, four of them strategically placed to grab an octopus tenacle.

Point the lights

We're eating dinner. I am focused on the little spoon making it between the yogurt container and David's mouth. Suddenly, he looks up, his carrot raised and pointing at the overhead light. Everyone grabs what they can—a fork, a chip, the dripping yogurt spoon—we point the lights.
