Rose gets the memo; David doesn't

I used to love the time change in the fall. A whole extra hour to sleep, how heavenly! But with kids, it's just one more hour of hard work. Rose slept in until 9 a.m. body time, a nice decent 8 by the clock. She is allowed to live. David did the great work of sleeping through the night for a total of four stickers on his chart, three this last week, but he started the day at 5:55 body time. That's before 5 on the clock, and I had made the silly choice to go out dancing the night before.

John tried to tempt David with sleeping in our bed. That led to the headboard being banged, my back being poked, and a constant stream of conversation. So, David and I went downstairs for a long set. We read books with me lying on the couch and him lying on top of me and wiggling. The longer he stared at the pictures, the longer I could sleep between pages. Batman, Spiderman, oatmeal. . .I don't know what all we did; it's a two hour blur. John came down, and I went back to bed.

John and I spent the rest of the day playing catch up with our sleep. It usually takes David a week to make a time change adjustment.
