Last year I walked out of Rose's parent-teacher conference gnashing my teeth. The teacher hadn't said anything disturbing about Rose, in fact, it had all been good, but it was obvious the teacher and I weren't going to be bosom buddies.

I adore Rose's new teacher.

It's not just the complete agreement on homework, though that goes a long way, it's her personality. We just click. This isn't crucial for Rose's success in school; she adored her teacher last year and did very well, but it makes me happier.

Anyway, the report was all good. Reading, math, writing all good. Her teacher emphasized that Rose is thorough and works at her own steady pace. This is no surprise since the same trait can drive us crazy at home. She is also very sweet and a helpful classmate. I'm glad.
