It is 5:00 and Rose and David have just crossed a dangerous patch of grass to get into the car. Something smells suspicious.

Debby: Rose check your shoes. Ok, David you too. It's not me.

David: It's me! I'm poopy!

Debby: Ok, good to know. We'll change you when we get home.

----------------------------------------------------

Everyone in the car is chatting. Suddenly David shouts out: Stop! Stop! I have something to say. Emma, from Rose's class, NEVER watches t.v.!

Emma's situation has had quite the profound impact on David. It came up casually during a play date when Rose, who has become obsessed with the Wizard of Oz, asked Emma about her t.v. viewing habits, and Emma said her mother didn't let her watch any. Rose took this in stride, but David is fascinated with it. He makes this announcement about Emma at least once a day and completely out of the blue. When he starts to throw a temper tantrum about watching more t.v., we just mention Emma and how we too could be like Emma, and he pulls it together.

-----------------------------------

David: I love you Mommy.
Debby: I love you.
David: I love you sweetie Mommy.
Debby: You are my special boy.

This conversation happens at least three times a day and involves much cuddling and snuggling. It is the best!
