Whines

John has been at an in-town conference for four days. I did all day Sunday by myself and have added at least an hour to every evening.

David has been having several temper tantrums a day.

Rose was a complete obnoxious pill this morning.

David pooped in the bathtub (which poor Sally had to cope with) the evening after I cleaned it. Now, I need to reclean the tub and deal with the contaminated toys.

I only wrote one poem this week, and it's dreadful.

Hurrah

John got a really good book from the library and let me read it first.

David is eating really well. It's so much that I presume it's a growth spurt, but he's actually been eating grow food and not just Koala bars. Lunch these days is an entire hotdog, milk, and half an apple. He then needs that equivalent again a couple hours later.

I found a vitamin David will eat. Because his fruits and vegetable in take is pretty limited, I've been worried about his nutrition. It's such a relief to see him munching down those vitamin gummy bears. I know they look and taste like candy. That's the point.

All our seeds have sprouted. I thinned the lettuce again today and got the little leaves cleaned and put away.

When I told David he couldn't take the stool and use the water in the sink right now, he pitched a fit. So, I dragged him into the t.v. room and shut the door with us in there together, something I've done the last two times he's been totally out of control. The little butterfly (a character I invented during his earlier temper tantrum) asked him why we were here. David said, "Because I was having a temper tantrum." I was so happy he recognized his behavior and that he pulled it together so quickly.

David and butterfly decided to go on a camping trip. Butterfly asked David to sing him a bedtime song. David told me "I'm singing a poopy song about a butterfly and an alien."

I got a gig as the guest visiting poet for Rose's school.

Nancy N. is coming to town tomorrow and is staying for five days to attend a conference.
