the good big sister

More time together has not lead to complete sweetness and light between the siblings, so I'm going to remember why I started this blog in the first place and focus on the good news.

David was freaking out the night we got back from the trip. Rose did everything he needed. She came upstairs when he asked for her. She told him stories. She cheered when we decided this was going to be the last diaper ever. Her attention got us over the hump.

David had a rotten time at Tot Shabbat. (I won't be going back anytime soon.) Afterwards, he wanted to be with his big sister. She cheerfully carried him down the hall to the bathroom and made no objections at his hyper antics.

At the playground, Rose and two other seven year olds were playing on the rotating tilting wheel. (It's hard to explain.) When David wanted to play, she modified the game, so he could join in and slowed the wheel, so he wouldn't get scared.

The Greenwood Car Show (one of four aventures we did today, oy) has a huge inflatable slide that you have to climb up like a rock climber and then slide down. Rose willingly went up behind David and gave him tush pushes to help him make it.

She's given him lots of hugs, spoken to him in a nice voice, and offered him the icing off her cake.
