David got us up at 6:40 (oy!) and Rose followed soon after. I took first shift getting the kids breakfast, reading David stories, negotiating how many iterations of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang we were going to hear. A lot.

John took next shift, and I went back to bed.

John went off to run errands.

At 10ish Mom came over after her work-out class and helped Rose write her thank you note while I finished reading David a story.

At 10:30 Julia and kids came over. She and mom did business while I was in charge of the kids. Being in charge meant I stayed out of the way while they pulled all the dress up clothes out of the box.

11:15 John came home and told the kids they could play in his office while he worked, but he needed his desk chair. Julia and Mom went back to Julia's house to do more work. I futzied, took lunch orders, and got lunch on the table.

12:00 I got all the kids and myself fed. John made the second round of chips and cheese.

12:30 The glass bowl fell off the kids' table sending shards of glass all over the floor. I worked the broom. John worked the vacuum.

12:40 Mom and Julia came back and had lunch. The kids needed no supervision.

1:00 I went to take my nap. Mom supervised by lying on the couch. John worked. Julia went grocery shopping for both households.

2:00 I came back to take the kids shopping for new dress up clothes at Goodwill, and David went into complete melt down mode. John helped me return David to sanity.

2:30 Miriam watched David at the toy section of Goodwill. Mom took Rose and Ariana to try on clothes in the dressing room, and I searched for clothes for Miriam. We got a fuzzy leopard print shirt, hospital scrubs, and a Sharpee wig. Big hits.

3:45 Mom went home. I drove back to Julia's house and hung out. The kids showed off their clothes. Then I got my groceries and went home. We decided the cost of the groceries she bought today balanced against the cost of the take-out dinner I got for us all last night. We try to keep a rough balance going.

4:40 I brought the kids home and left them with John while I went to the library. I checked for books under my name and John's.

5:15 The kids fought a bunch and John mostly handled it. I helped a little. John reheated the omlettes and hasbrowns. I made Rose a caper cheese sandwich.

5:40 John did dishes and played on the computer. I did kid duty and read my book.

6:40 Sally the babysitter came, and we left for a meeting.
