the keyboard

The keyboard has been a much bigger hit than I expected. We got the keyboard because Rose is going to start piano lessons. Rose is going to start piano lessons because she wants to, and, in general, I think learning about music and getting a basic grounding in it is a good idea. But, it's not like I'm in love with piano music.

But little did I know, we weren't getting a piano. We were getting a roller coaster, laser beams, machine guns, trombones, and 10 different versions of a piano.

We are all so excited that we have to set the timer, so everyone gets a turn. We also made family rules about the keyboard.

1. No jumping on the keyboard. David immediately broke this rule during set up. Luckily, he did not break the keyboard.
2. Get permission before touching the keyboard. It's so tempting, just sitting there in the dining room, and the odds of syrup covered fingers hitting those keys are high.
3. Which leads us to our next rule: wash and dry hands before touching the keyboard.

Since only Mommy and Daddy are allowed to touch the volume control, we hopefully won't blast out the neighbors. Lessons start Tuesday, and I, for one, am planning to learn along with Rose.
