Christmas day in urgent care

Rose is fine. I had to get that out there, so you wouldn't worry. But we have had a sick bunny today. Normally, I wouldn't even try to go to a doctor for a pretty obvious, though miserable, viral infection. But since we are trying to get on an airplane tomorrow morning, the consulting nurse suggested we go to Children's Hospital Urgent Care just in case.

I'm so so glad we did.

Much to my surprise, the urgent care center was pretty empty. I'm guessing people still get sick on Christmas; they just don't want to deal with it. We got seen within 20 minutes and had started a course of treatment within 40. I am so grateful that instead of telling me--rest and fluids, go home--they whipped out their handy dandy anti-nausea med. At home, we couldn't get Rose's fever down or get rid of her very bad head-ache because she kept throwing up the Tylenol. This med helped. Then they helped me force-feed her Gatorade: 5 oz. every 5 minutes. Gaorade is disgusting, and I'm very proud of Rose for taking it as medicine. I was there 4.5 hours, but they didn't send me home until Rose's fever broke.
