Rose's warts

Planter's warts. They aren't a big deal, and yet they can get in the way. Rose had a couple on her feet 8 months ago. First we tried treating them at home. Night after night of salicylic acid. Very boring and stinky and ineffectual. Then we tried the doctor putting essence of blistering beetle (Cantharidin) on them which is supposed to form blisters that basically get under the wart and lift it out with some help from more salicylic acid. Literally months of salicylic acid. The skin on her foot fell apart but the warts stayed.

Then I took a break. When I finally made a new doctor's appointment, she had five warts to tackle. This time the blistering beetle worked. It worked so well that she got huge blood blisters on two of her spots and couldn't really walk for two days. That took care of the hike we had planned. The good news is two of the warts, especially the really big cluster one, look like they are gone for good. She has couple holes in her foot, but no wart. The others are going to need yet more salicylic acid. But the doctor said come back in three weeks if they aren't all gone, and I've already made the appointment.
