Yesterday, I walked in the door tired, opened a rejection letter from a contest I really hoped to win, and the kids started fighting. That was a bad five minutes. But otherwise, I had a wonderful day.

The kids happily played the game of sliding down the stairs in the sleeping bag. The key words are happily and together.

I did not forget the cookie dough. I almost forgot the cookie dough to take to the cookie making party, but I did not. I forgot the cooling racks. I did remember the cookies sheets, cookie cutters, extra flour, spatula, aprons, and hot pads. You may be thinking, why is she bringing her entire kitchen to someone else's party? Well, that's what you do when your dear friend invites you to a cookie decorating party, and you need to make gluten-free cookies. We had a lovely time, and the cookies are delicious.

It was cool and misty out--just perfect for admiring holiday lights.

David said: can I have your iphone first?
I said: No, it's Rose's turn.
David said: ok.

My bowling date that cancelled, uncancelled, so the kids and I got to go bowling with them this afternoon. My favorite part of bowling is the cheering.

The hannukah candles looked magical.

Rose knit me a hat for hannukah, a real, beautiful, warm hat. I love it. And she kept saying how much she enjoyed giving gifts. I love it.
