5th grade camp

Last week Rose went to 5th grade camp and had a fabulous time. This is an event where the school takes all 60 5th graders on a two night three day retreat. She was pretty darn nervous before she went, the food of course. This time there was some reason to be nervous since the camp did not accommodate gluten free. We solved it. We got a copy of the menu and I talked to the chef about the questionable items (turkey--no gluten), and Rose thought their sausages were the best she'd ever had.

She also loved the swimming, rock climbing, bleach dying of t-shirts, campfires, stories, and being in a cabin. She is now on the helping hands team where she goes into younger grades and helps out. She even came home kind and loving to her brother. . .for the first few hours. Then she had major let down. She moped around the house bored, exhausted, and missing the buzz. It took several days to get her equilibrium back.
