I want to give a big shout out to my non-Jewish partner for making fabulous gluten-free hammentaschen, including an extra 14 for David's Sunday School class. The hammentaschen were gorgeous, delicious, and a huge hit with David's classmates. The kids' tastes are obviously expanding since they liked the strawberry and peach jam this year, in addition to perennial favorites: nutella and marshmallow fluff.

We did have a bit of a costume crisis. David finally let me wear his Indiana Jones outfit from Halloween. Then after rejecting ninja, jedi, toothbrush, and human tic/tac/toe board, he decided he wanted to wear the iphone costume that John had made a couple years ago. It wasn't very mobile, but he was a huge hit. All the kids kept pressing his apps. No, I don't have a photo because he refused. Rose was also changed her mind several times, but she ended up being a Dracula business person.

Holidays are a great way to gage change. At the Purim carnival two years ago David clung to me. Last Purim he wanted me to follow around and hover. This Purim he occasionally checked in to ask me to hold his tickets. It was my most relaxing Purim carnival ever.
