I can't find my black tights.
Is this the shirt I wore last year?
Borrow mine.
Red jacket or pink?
Do I need a sweater with this shirt?
Just in case.
These tights are too tight.
Try these.
The locket doesn't match the earrings.
I need to put the anti-lice stuff in your hair.
It's meaningful though.

And that's just the getting dressed portion of Passover. Once again we had a wonderful holiday season with just a dash of chaos.

A week ago Sunday, we converged on Mom's house to bring up the china, pick out the table cloths, go through the lists again and again, make new shopping lists, and set the table. Wednesday, Julia and I went back to reset the table because we had miscounted. Easy to do when you have 27 people coming for seder. That's right. It was a four course dinner for 27.

We don't do all the cooking. Each guests brings something. And let's be honest, I don't do any of the cooking. John made the best chicken he's ever done and three carrot soufflés. I shopped and made sure we had a lot of gluten free matzah.

On Friday, I pulled David out of school early. I have lovely pictures of him and Miriam polishing the silver while Rose and Ariana roll the wash clothes for the ritual hand washing.

The seder was wonderful. We updated our homemade haggadah last year, but maybe I was on kid duty or something because I don't remember all the changes. I loved them. It made the story feel new and even more significant. Julia brought in outside readings. People asked questions. The rabbi was there, so she could answer some of them, and the kids crumpled the afikomen. So much fun.

And for lunch today Rose has cheddar and salami on matzah.
