Another day that feels heavy with portent, but so far all the signs have been good. I got to jazzercise, the kids heard their rights and responsibilities without objection. They lounged around the house until they came up with something to do: David went off to play tennis with Julian. Rose had Amelia and Jasper over to bake a cake. John and I went to the car show, which was crazy crowded but sweet all the same. Then I got an hour of paid work done. David came home, took a shower, and walked himself to a birthday party. The girls stayed for dinner and giggled non-stop. In an hour, we are all going dancing at a friend's. If I spend the next hour writing poetry, it will be an excellent day.
