Oh, Saturday!

It’s light when I hear the Beeper. Still, I don’t want to get out of bed. Half the People leave on Saturday mornings and half don’t. I stay with the half that stays in bed. We get another hour maybe two. Then it’s off to Pete’s if I’m lucky, and did I tell you that I am a lucky dog? I am a lucky dog. Today Labrador goes with, and we sleep in the warm auto while the People have breakfast. After our nap, there is chicken and some bacon bits. Mighty tasty.

The farmer’s market, another short stop for bunches of tulips and lilies, and then sometimes it’s straight to my house and sometimes it’s a few more stops. This morning, it was straight to my house.

Poodle stayed behind today. Sometimes she goes, too, but she doesn’t know how to behave in the auto, and the People have a time. They never have a time with me. I know just where to sit and what is expected of me. I do not hang my head out the window as I have seen other canines do. I don’t like all that air in my face. I sit in my high auto seat and I keep watch for passing hounds. Most of them are walking their People. Holler! Some are riding in their own autos. Shout out! Some are by themselves, hanging out on the street corners. Go home! This is the extent of my interaction on ride-sees. Poodle is like popcorn in the auto.

Once we are back at my house, we relax for a while. I sun on the terrace and sniff the four winds. Dog One and Dog Two south across the street are quiet this afternoon. Boxer is, too. And Two Labradors up on the west corner must be asleep on their patio. I can’t hear Pit Bull Mix further down the street, and I can’t smell Retriever, Golden in the far east. Jack Russells One and Two to directly across the street are tusseling in their back yard, which is how it should be on a Saturday afternoon, so all must be well with my neighbors today. I will check in with them again later. They know where to find me. Casa d’Ella.
