My usual place to gas up is at Wawa, which has such low gas prices that I have to believe they've sold their corporate soul to the petroleum devil, but this week I stopped at a tiny mom-and-pop (or maybe a mom-and-mom or pop-and-pop, to cover the entire spectrum of possibilities) as station in town. My vehicle demands the middle grade gas, which is ordinarily in, surprisingly, the middle position on the gas pump. This time, however, I stood there confused for a full minute trying to figure out what was wrong with this picture. The good folks at this Mobil station has cleverly placed the button for the premium grade in the middle position. I wonder how many people make the mistake of picking it out of locational habit, not realizing they're feeding their cars Bass Ale instead of Bud Light.

Why is this not considered as shrill as the anti-reproductive-choice advocate portray any activism on the part of pro-choice supporters? It seems desperate, irrelevant and juvenile.

Keeler to Boycott Loyola Graduation
Cardinal William H. Keeler told Loyola College of Maryland yesterday that he will not attend its commencement ceremony tomorrow because he disagrees with the keynote speaker, former New York Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani, who supports abortion rights. The decision comes amid planned protests, led in part by a conservative Catholic group, outside tomorrow's ceremony at the 1st Mariner Arena in downtown Baltimore.
