So, I walked into my son's room on Saturday morning and noticed the carpet was warm... First thought: *um, that can't be good* Felt next to the wall and it was soaking.

Called insurance, broke into the wall, couldn't find the origin of the leak and called a plumber. They told me to shut off the water to the house (ooooo... Fun! Oh wait, no it's not) They came yesterday and told me I had a slab leak! (In California, pipes run through the concrete, or "Slab" of the house. The slab is the foundation of the house). To fix such an issue, they need to destroy the foundation of the house to access the pipes. Fortunately it turns out it is a single pipe going to the washer and dryer and is separate from the rest of the house water system, so they will most likely cap the old one, and run another one through the roof over the garage.

Good News:
I was planning on having some people over this weekend, bit it fell through. That was the good news.

Fortunately insurance will cover the cost of everything.

Bad News:
I changed my deductible from $500, to $1000 6 months ago. Can you say OUTCH!

Well, I was planning on doing something cool with Harrison’s room, now I guess I have to! So it’s turning out to be a good motivator!
