a little bit of everything and nothing in particular

geez, all this talk of funks and i'm starting to feel kind of funky(not the get-down and boogie good kind either). but this too will probably pass.

i started on my first line story but didn't get very far. ugh. i decided a little musical inspiration might help, so i pulled out three doors down and natalie merchant and then couldn't get the damn cd player to work. so i just started writing, got two short paragraphs and i'm afraid the second one is gonna have to go.

when hubby came home, he showed me the trick to get the cd player to work. sheesh.

i'm not sure how to attack the revision of the one posted at the journal group. and i'm afraid the july deadline will surely make me procrastinate.

i'm kittie sitting over the holidays. it's alway fun to pet sit around this time, because the little darlings usually leave me a little present. either nice christmas bath soup or candles. it's not much, but it makes me smile because it's sweet to find people who love their pets as much as i love mine, and usually assume their personalities. sergei always gives a gift or two, we pet owners just can't help ourselves.

i'm starting to feel the pressure of christmas. only because i have one day, fri, to get everything finished. in between, i'll have to take cc to cash her check, pick mark up from work, and possibly take z to work. in between i'll be hitting stores. mark offered to go with, but since i've always done it by myself anyway, i'll let him out of it. besides, in order to keep him from "going postal" on the christmas crowds, we always have to stop some where so he can have a beer(ya have to love a mall with restaurants that serve beer). and honestly, i just won't have time. besides, i'm a speed shopper, i generally know what i want, i get in and get out!

thank god it's almost over. i've amended my christmas dinner this year. i just don't feel like spending an eternity in the kitchen to have all those left-overs that no one eats(usually sweet potatoes, dressing and yes, even the green bean casserole that everyone loves)well, left-over. simplify, simplify, simplify.

switching gears(again)...hey, now i'm not much of a baseball person. we have a minor league team here, but even tho they're called the charlotte knights, they play across the border in south carolina. especially since they put the new basketball(and also minor league hockey team) arena uptown, there was talk of moving the baseball team there too. they are now a little closer to that dream and are trying to work out the details for a stadium. even tho i'm not much of a baseball person, it would be so cool to sit(yes, for three+ hours)under a summer night sky to watch a game in the shadows of skyscrapers. luckily for us, our uptown isn't so full that the stars can't be seen. plus, the stadium will be right down the road from the football stadium and in a place where the buildings aren't quite so high(and interestingly enough, right by the greyhound bus station).

well, i was gonna hit on some current affairs topics, but ya know, i just don't feel like it. i've a few things to do around here and maybe i can get some writing attempted before the iceback comes home to work on his site.

ya'll have a nice one, ya hear!
