America the Gullible

well, after bush's speech sunday night and his press conference monday afternoon, it seems he's rebounded in the polls where his approval ratings are concerned, or maybe at least concerning his stance on the iraq war.

it's really quite pathetic. too many people in this country will believe anything. i guess that's why con men are can so easily scam people out of their savings. we want to believe everything everyone tells us.

i mean really, how can you listen to the man basically say, fuck you, i'll do whatever the hell i want? all hail king george. oh he doesn't come out and say that, but geez, folks, let's learn to read between the lines.

apparently, bush and his cronies are above the law. it's good to be the king.

really, this is a non-rant. to tell you the truth, i'm just too damn tired. i always think ranting about the state of affairs in this country will make me feel better. it doesn't. here in journalscape, the majority of members are like minded anyhow. they're not afraid of the truth and they don't live in denial. they're intelligent people who refuse to be sold swamp land in nebraska. too bad the other half of the country would rather follow blindly, and accept being lied to because it's just easier. it's always easier to believe the lie than to admit the truth.

and for those who don't really understand how the rest of the world looks at us, go read Dale Bridges' Typical Americans. He's been living in Prague, a country with a long history of despots, occupation and general upheaval.

all right, really, i'm done. i'm so sick of these mouth breathers who believe those men and women over there are fighting for our freedom. we're supposedly already free, so exactly what freedom are they fighting for?

go read dale's essay. he's always entertaining.

that's it for me.
