monday night t.v. trivia

what can i say...i love my t.v.

first, i flipped and watched a little dancing with the stars. it's been a complaint that kristi yamaguchi is kind of professional, and you know, she kind of is. while she may have to get her un-skate-clad feet in line, she has the legs, body, arms and hand movements down just because of being a figure skater (and one could almost argue that it would be easier to "dance" without skates).

hers was the only performance i caught...just by coincidence...but it also happened to be the first performance her husband had made it to. i caught the tail-end of the "practice" session and then saw the dance, which was beautiful, to be sure...then while waiting for her score she mentions what a support her husband had been...he said something to the effect of (not a direct quote, mind you, but really really similar) "You have a chance touch people and show something beautiful"

ok, well, here's the trivia for those who don't know. her husband is brett hedican. who is that? you might ask. i'll tell you, i know brett well. how? you wonder. because brett hedican plays for the carolina hurricanes. i repeat...HE'S A HOCKEY PLAYER. he shouldn't be saying "oh, it's beautiful" he's supposed to be slamming opposing players into the BOARDS. only, he's not. why? cause the hurricanes didn't make it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs...THATS WHY! (can we say "Cutting Edge?" only without the two of them coming together to make a figure skating pair)

next...i love that show "Bones" i didn't like it at first, i thought it was kind of cheesy...as sometimes only FOX can be. but really...i love it...i do...more and more with each episode....the "back and forth" between the two is outstanding, like the old "moonlighting."

so here's your trivia concerning that...Emily Deschanel, who plays Dr. Temperance Brennen is the daughter of Caleb Deschanel. who is Caleb Deschanel you may ask? why he's the the cinematographer of greats such as “the last temptation of christ” Jodie foster’s “anna and the king” “the patriot” (another mel gibson film, featuring heath ledger as his son, that z and i stood in line for as extras in south carolina) “the right stuff” “Apocalypse Now" a few episodes of “twin peaks” and several episodes of “law and order” and....he also directed the Eric Clapton music video "Pretending"

bet you didn't know that, eh?

last but not least...csi...as i was surfing channels for something to watch, i ran across the csi where vegas and miami meet...

the crime originated in vegas yet ended in miami so both crews joined forces to solve the case...

the top "forensic evidence?" tupelo honey. apparently (according to the show) it's the purest form of honey that always remains liquid and never turns to that crappy crystallized stuff. the show, if memory serves me, said that a bottle of that honey was $500. they didn't say the size, but the one they showed had to be at least a gallon but no more than that.

so, immediately, tupelo honey, tupelo honey...where have i heard that...music started dancing through my head...

van morrison's "tupelo honey"

Shes as sweet as tupelo honey
Shes an angel of the first degree
Shes as sweet as tupelo honey
Just like the honey, baby, from the bee
Shes my baby, you know shes alright.....

yeah, i thought i'd heard of it somewhere...curiosity often kills the cat...but not me...here's the break down...

tupelo honey comes from the swamp regions of southern Georgia and northern Florida

the price? well, from three (maybe four) different places...

…$14 12.16 oz on http://www.savannahbee.com/product/14/8">…$14 12.16 oz on http://www.savannahbee.com/product/14/8 who really gets it from...

http://www.floridatupelohoney.com/items.cfm?ItemTopCategory=Honey&ItemCategory=Gallon%20Jugs%20Tupelo

who sells it for $43.20 by the gallon

$43.00 a gallon http://www.tupelohoneycafe.com/stuff.htm

the highest price comes from fl...an 11lb jar for $77.75 but for some reason i didn't get this website url...at any rate, it's a lot less than the $500 a bottle that csi claimed it was.

and...there you go...

welcome to lalaland trivia...now, go forth and prosper with your new found knowlege...(hey, this is the stuff that wins you bucks in your neighborhood bar's weekly trivia...i know...i've done it)

hope ya'll enjoyed your stay, please remember to tip your bartenders and waitresses...

and...ya'll come back now, ya hear.

;-)
