without the lows the highs wouldn't be as high

well, i was really bummed out last night (until i read the acceptance letter). i have been scouring the internet for places to move to. originally my search was narrowed to daytona beach because i didn't know the area so well. i thought this was my only, and best, option.

but i was a little freaked out. i mean, i don't want to live some place where tons of people stream in several times a year and disrupt my every day life. meaning, i'm a loner who loves the quiet, peacefulness of the back woods of north carolina and arkansas. so the thought of daytona beach, mecca for spring breakers and motorcycle enthusiasts, freaked me out. i mean, one of the things i loved about carolina beach (by wilmington) is that it was so quiet and non-beachy resort towny.

so a few days ago, in my search, i find an ad for a 1 bedroom, 1 bath, with patio claiming it was "steps to the ocean" OMG, it was even in my price range. i'm wondering, is it a dump? so last night i call...no, they've already accepted a deposit. DAMN (and the guy sounded gay on the phone, so double damn)

i think this a good area for me because i would be closer to z-man when he moves to orlando. much closer than daytona beach.

so i continue looking. well, i've come across a couple of other places...one on "merritt island" merritt island is on an actual island...a strip of land much like the outer banks of north carolina except, i would have to take a "causeway" to actually reach the ocean beaches. but still...an island. i've never lived on a island so i admit, this intrigues me.

however, i found another place that is at cape canaveral. here i would be four blocks from the ocean. ok, so kennedy space center may be in my "backyard" but then again, how cool would it be to step outside in the morning and from the comfort of my home, watch a shuttle launch?

unfortunately, at the cape canaveral place i would be without a patio or balcony...something i had really hoped for. but...i think four blocks from the beach is a nice incentive to forgo a patio.

it is all about compromises, and quite frankly, compromises is something i do well.

so this friday is a road trip. one to search and seek out a new place for lala to live.

fingers crossed.
