Sharing cars

Today we had friends come over to visit, like we sometimes do, but this is the first time it was raining and we all had to play inside. Poor LB had trouble sharing all his toys, AND his food with the other kids. I explained to him that if he didn't share his friends would not come to play, and he was a bit better, but he still struggled with it. As a parent I was probably more stressed about it than he or the other kids were-I just hated to see my child acting that way. I guess we need to have our friends come over to play more often so that LB can learn to share better.

I was amused that one of the other moms commented that it was good to see him like this, since he's usually such a calm and laid back kid who isn't bothered by these petty troubles. And he is. I'm guessing that it's a combination of being inside so much because of the rain and also maybe not feeling so good. It also could just be that he's turning two!!!

When we're driving around now, LB spends most of his time pointing at vehicles and telling me their color. He had been focusing on red cars... "That's a red car." but just today, he started picking out brown ones instead. He knows cars and busses, but doesn't quite differentiate yet between a truck, a van, and a car. Although I think that sometimes he has called a van a, "van car" but I'm not 100% sure on that one. It keeps him busy in the car though, which is great, much better than sucking his thumb like he did for a while.
