Looks like another week under way, with the usual ups and downs. Up: my story has made it past 4 slushers at nfg.ca. Down: the endless, fruitless cycle of maintaining a green lawn on red clay. Up: I got the upstairs a/c working again this morning (it's been on the blink for months, and funds keep going to the yard). Down: the a/c is back to not working again this evening. Down: the letter to the illiterate HOA nazis. I did enjoy quoting them, though. With a [sic] just because I can. Down: I don't get my husband back over the weekend. He can't come home until next Wednesday. Down: murder is apparently still illegal. This puts a crimp on so many things. *sigh*

If I were any more boring, I'd be dead. But not too dead...even a corpse left out gets pretty lively after a week or so (depending on season, exposure, etc.)


Currently Reading: Lolita by Vladimir Nabakov

Recommend: A Dead Man in Deptford by Burgess. Slow and disturbing, but a rather interesting take on the life of Marlowe.
