Malaise

I'm feeling the malaise that seems to come from not quite finishing enough things to feel accomplished. I've edited two stories, submitted one, will submit another next weekend (snail mail thing), and done crits on some chapters. Perhaps part of the depression comes from searching for markets. There are about ten markets out there for genre fiction that pay professional rates. The ones that get me are the ones with caps...i.e., pay .03 cents per word up to $25 or $30. So, if your story is about 2000 words and the cap is $25, I think that comes to an eigth of a cent per word? (I'm mathematically challenged, feel free to tell me if that's wrong)

I've also planted the tomatoes, bell peppers, actual peppers that I bought by mistake, and cantaloupe; started squash in better soil and am sprouting some beans to plant; planted the jasmine; done the laundry and dishes; and fed the snakes.

Nope, still not feeling accomplished. I guess I need to work on the story that was put on the back burner, edit the thing I've really been avoiding, and oh, I don't know, take over the world. Oh, and create a website.

Currently Reading: The Witches of Eastwick and Moll Flanders

Stories out: 3. Talebones has had something since June of '04, so it's probably DOA, and darkwisdom.com has had something since last November, so it's probably also dead. Must work up ambition to query.
