2006-05-01 12:40 PM A rose behind the wall Mood: Sad Read/Post Comments (2) |
We had a great Sunday. Hubby, son and I went to reptile land, which was a lot of fun. Lil man was able to hold a boa and a water monitor, which he thought was the coolest thing ever. My husband squirmed away and hid, he really hates snakes! It was a gorgeous ride there too, the sun was shining and the scenic view was just picture perfect!
We came home and I started clearing away the lil area in the front to get ready for plants. I think I am going to plant begonia's this year again. They thrive out there. I also found the most amazing patch of peppermint, so I am going to try and seed that to the backyard. I love when Jeff mows the alley and everything smells pepperminty! So I will attempt to move some of this peppermint to the backyard so when he mows out there, it will smell pepperminty too! Things are coming together as far as the tenants go. We received the paperwork Saturday in the mail about the eviction. I saw that they were packing boxes up, so that is a good sign that they are leaving SOON! The tenants mother called our house wanting to leave a message for them, we informed her that we are not their messaging service and to stop calling here for them. That was a bit tough, cuz we know the whole family, and the mom is a pretty cool lady. She totally understood and even said that she wasnt mad about the eviction thing, I believe her exact words were "i hate that my son is a deadbeat". I wish she would have told us BEFORE we let them move in!!!! We sat on the porch last night for the first time this year, and it was quite nice. The kids were outside playing and there was a nice crisp breeze coming through. The tenants were gone for the evening, so it was really nice and quiet. Porch sitting was never one of my favorite things to do, but as I have gotten older, its interesting to sit out there and watch the goings on in the neighborhood. Maggie's (my co-worker) brother passed away Sunday. Thats what we all found out this morning at work. She is a wreck. It all happened so fast, it was only 3 weeks ago that the doctors found the cancer. She showed up to work today, she said she didnt want to sit home and cry all day, that being at work with the people that care about her is the place she wanted to be. We are taking a collection for flowers. Her brother was only 45. I need to get back to work, today has been very very busy and I still have so much I need to get done before 5:30 rolls around.
