So, hubby went to court today. The Judge who was so decent to us 2 weeks ago was a bit different today. I wasnt there, so I dont know exactly what transpired, except the fact that it didnt go well. Hubby was absolutely irritated. I dont know how recent events (less than a week) of a water leak (which a plumber was here to fix w/ in 48 hours) came into play on them being over 2 months deliquent on their rent... I am still shaking my head on that one. Needless to say, this is not the aggrivation that we needed at the moment. After all of that, our porch sitting came to a screaching hault when they decided to infest our front porch like a bad case of cockroaches, and above that, they leave candy wrappers and junk laying around for someone else to clean up (me).

Then tonight after american idol (great job taylor!!!), I was talking to my momma on the phone when I heard noises coming from the alley.... their kids (tenant kids) were again, throwing items in the alley from their 2nd floor bedroom window, and when I told them to knock it off, I was basically told to go pound salt in not such a nice way by a 11 year old. grrrr

Hubby didnt go outside to say anything, he's just sick and tired of all of this and wants to run away, as do I and the rest of us.

It really sucks when you dont even want to be in your own home. We have been locking the doors and asking neighbors to keep an eye out on things, as a precautionary measure. Honestly, its not the adult tenants I dont trust, its the damn kids...

Here was the kicker to the whole deal. I forgot to check voicemail today. When I finally checked our voicemail, low and behond if there is not a message from the gas company. "To the property owners of ############, please contact the office of P&G Energy, services will be disconnected effective Thursday May 11,2006. If you would like the services to be turned on in your name, please contact our office immediately to make arrangements"

In other words, the tenants havent paid their gas bill either, why does that not suprise me? Oh, but they can afford a lawyer, and they can afford candy up the wazooo for their children, but no, judge sir, I cannot afford to pay my rent because there is a leak in my kitchen that happened on May 3rd, so we didnt pay our April or March or even our May rent, because we had forseen this leak and we wanted..." whatever, gawd, I am just kinda defeated today :(

Its my day off tomorrow, and I think I am just going to jump in the car and go anywhere else but here. I am afraid if they say something to me, I might get....a bit....vocal and that would not be good for our pending case.

Judge said he should have a "verdict" pending talking to our plumber. I still dont see how this has anything to do with their 2 months deliquency....

Lets see, on a good note, daughter brought home the scheduling information for next year for school. We went over pretty much everything with her, and she decided to take music theory for her elective, and thank god she decided to continue with spanish. She was going to drop spanish next year, because she didnt like the teacher she has this year (a spanish teacher with a lisp is a bit hard to understand, and no, I am not kidding, she has a terrible lisp) She is also continuing on with her advanced honor courses in English and Social Studies.

Oh and another good thing from my day... Momma informed me that she went to the doc today and all is good :) I know I didnt sound so excited on the phone when I was talking to her, but I am truly grateful and happy that she is staying healthy. I know I dont say it enough to my mom, but I do love her.

I just remembered another good thing (journaling has helped me not forget the good things when the days are so rough)

I have been working on a very huge project recently (a hobby type of thing) and I have completed phase one, and am ready to start phase two. I am hoping that once I finish phase two, I will be able to post a link here and folks can have some fun.... kinda cryptic, but.... you all will have to wait and see :)
