Dean Koontz As one of Koontz's older novels, this one has a very different feel than his new ones do. It's almost as if it were by another author entirely. However, it still an extremely good book and up to the Koontz standard. Two police officers are working on a series of murders of a known crime family. Rumor has it that someone practicing voodoo is behind the murders. They don't want to believe this, but the murders are happening behind closed and locked doors and in odd ways. They are forced to believe when a pack of demonic entities are let loose and set to kill the two children of one of the officers on the case. This book is a very good read and is gripping right from the beginning. It starts off with shadowy killers, but eventually the descriptions of these demons come to play. The characters are believable, the dialogue is realistic, and the descriptions, especially of the demons and the supernatural aspects of this book, are vivid. While this is an older book, there really is no sense of the year in which it was written and could easily take place today. I would recommend this book to everyone, especially those that like Dean Koontz novels. My rating: Four out of five snails. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
