A Tale Moves Forward and Other News Tidbits

Well, I've received four story submissions in the past week for Lone Star Stories, which is a nice change. Unfortunately, none of them interested me enough to accept for the April issue. As of now, I have zero stories and poems for that issue, and I'm starting to rethink my narrow theme. Maybe I will include works from writers who live in (or lived in at one time) Texas. I'll have to chew on the idea for a bit.

I managed to get more done on my de-Zeppelined story, tentatively titled "Witt Valley Tales," and I've even brought two characters into it, Cobly and Jack, (They aren't cheesy. Honest.) from my recently published story, "A Walk into the Dreamworld." I don't know if it's a good idea or not yet. The story is sort of writing itself; I have no idea what's going to happen until I start typing.

I plan on reading some fiction taken from my stack of novels purchased with Christmas gift cards. That should be fun. Oh, and I now have a copy of Flytrap #1, which is full of excellent fiction and poetry. I recommend it highly. I also recommend The Knight by Gene Wolfe, which now holds a place on my bookshelf. I'm very selective in what books I keep, giving the vast majority to the Austin Public Library once I've finished them.

That's about it for news. Good night!
