Print Edition of Scifaikuest

I received Issue No. 5 of the print version of Scifaikuest in the mail today. It's my first paid print publication of any kind, and it's great to have a ku among all of the other excellent poems within its pages. Receiving the magazine today has me wanting more contributor copies, so I'm really looking forward to getting my copies of All-Star Zeppelin Adventure Stories and Champagne Shivers in the next few months. (My Star*Line copies aren't due until mid 2005 or so.)

For my current writing projects, I'm revising a story that I had workshopped recently, reviewing/revising my old college fantasy novel fragment (as a part of Jenn's One-Week August Double-dog Dare challenge), revising another workshopped story that needs lots of expansion/revision, and trying to write some more of my collaborative story. My shared world tale is getting a mid-writing check up by one of my fellow authors.

As for submissions, I have fifty-five stories and poems making the market rounds at present, and I expect to hear from several markets soon.

Lone Star Stories definitely attracts more submissions now that I've opened it to all speculative fiction and poetry. I receive an average of two submissions a day, which is a whole lot more than I used to see in my in-box. The quality of writing is about the same, perhaps a bit better. I still need two stories for the next issue coming out in October, but I have plenty of time to find them.

That's about it for news. Back to story revising.
